Elvis Birthday Bash 2013 is Saturday, January 19th at the Capitol Theater in downtown Olympia. Showtime is 7:30PM, beginning with a screening of the award-winning film Almost Elvis, which was directed by noted Northwest filmmaker, John Paget. This amazing documentary tells the hilarious and heartwarming story of the best Elvis impersonators in the world competing to be crowned King. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you might even go out and buy a jumpsuit!
Then at the end of the film, one of the on-screen characters comes to life. WORLD CHAMPION Elvis Impersonator Robert Washington will take the stage and unleash his Elvis pipes like a 747 jet engine. How good is he? He was the first black man ever to become Elvis World Champion, while defeating other Elvii who even had $40,000 worth of plastic surgery to look just like Elvis. That's how good he is!
Robert will be backed by The Kentucky Rain Band, the west coast's premiere Elvis backing band. Plus, live dancing showgirls from Tush Burlesque will add a touch of class to this exciting all-ages show. There will also be an Elvis Trivia Challenge, Elvis Art Show, Elvis Costume Contest, and Elvis-style snacks available. There will also be autograph and photo time with Elvis after the concert.
